What is VitreoRetinal Disease?

A Retina Specialist "Focuses" on the Vitreous and the Retina

A retinal specialist is a sub-specialized ophthalmologist. Additional fellowship training is required to specialilze in this area after completing general ophthalmology training.  Most retinal specialists limit their practices to diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.

The following is a list of the more common diseases of the vitreous and retina. It is not a complete list. If you are one of my patients, I have designed this part of my web site to echo the information that you learned at the office.

VitreoRetinal Disease

"Retinal specialists are eye doctors that specialize in disease of the vitreous, the inside gel that fills the eye, and the retina, the light sensitive tissue that lines the inside of the eye.

That's all we do!"
